Cindy is an investigator who works according to the scientific method. The foundation for this was laid during her Chemistry-Crime Science education, where she was taught both the fundamentals of chemistry and forensic investigation. Here she learned to conduct methodical investigations in a scientific manner, where core values such as integrity, reliability and accuracy were very important. From this education grew a love for fire investigation.
During her graduation period at Efectis Nederland this love was further fueled and after graduation Cindy joined Efectis Nederland. There she gained a lot of experience in the field of fire investigation, fire safety and performing fire resistance tests.
Cindy attended the IFV (Institute of Physical Safety, today NIPV) and successfully completed the fire investigator course.
At CED Forensic, Cindy worked full time investigating on behalf of insurers. While there, she gained extensive knowledge of the various aspects of claims handling for insureds. She saw the impact claims and cause investigations have on policyholders and also that policyholders were not adequately assisted by an expert during this hectic period. Cindy is therefore happy to dedicate herself to guiding insureds in this and giving them a voice in this process.
The question "Why?" is not unfamiliar to Cindy. From her curiosity and desire to understand what happened, Cindy's strength is to look at all aspects within an investigation without prejudice and, moreover, not giving up easily. Thanks to Cindy's persistence, she knows how to get to the core so that she can ultimately grasp what actually happened.
In addition to her work as an investigator, Cindy will take care of client contact until Jaap Terhenne - who is temporarily unavailable due to health reasons - returns to work. She will additionally handle day-to-day operations as Operations Manager.
