'The power of equality'

When Jaap Terhenne became an entrepreneur that turned out to be one of the best business decisions he made in his long career. And of course he benefits daily from his extensive experience at, among others, a leading Dutch insurer and a major insurance consultant.

His natural drive to want to achieve the best for his clients has led to appealing results at NLOI.

Jaap discovered that 'Equality of arms' was not really an issue in insurance investigations. Together with a number of partners, Jaap subsequently founded the Nederlands Onderzoeks Instituut NLOI B.V. in 2015. NLOI was the first party to look at investigations from this perspective.

This is because Jaap strongly believes in equality of all parties involved in investigations, whether they are carried out in insurance matters, from authorities or from customers and suppliers. Only then can the best research results be achieved. From the very first moment that NLOI was 'launched', the concept proved successful.

Jaap is an entrepreneur with a very clear vision of his field. Although that vision is sometimes contradictory, he always seeks dialogue to actually settle discussions where they belong. It is what it is' is his motto. And within that 'is' there is a great deal of nuance.
